The Father Saunders Trophy returns to St. Paul after a 28-8 win over East Catholic!  Each year, the St. Paul Falcons and the East Catholic Eagles go head to head to determine the winner of the coveted Father Saunders trophy.  This past Saturday brought the Falcon Football Team to 3-0, and the winner of the trophy! Plan to join us this coming Saturday for the Falcon’s next home game against Plainville at 3:00 p.m. and cheer those Falcons on!

The SAT 2008 College Bound Senior Report is in and we have much to be proud of! SPCHS students excelled in the SAT’s this year, with not only significant increases over last year’s performance but  with higher overall scores in Math, Reading and Writing than the national, state and other Bristol high schools’ averages.  In Reading, SP scored 527, while the national average was 502, state of CT, 509 and other Bristol schools, 493.  In Math, SP scored 519, with national scores at 515, state of CT, 513 and Bristol schools, 503. In Writing, SP scored 530, with national at 494, state of CT, 513 and Bristol high schools, 494. Way to go, SP!

Congratulations to SP President, Cary Dupont, who was recently awarded with the Fostering Positive Change Award from Wheeler Clinic.  Cary’s leadership as president and chief professional officer for the United Way of West Central CT helped transform the organization from a fundraising agency to a community impact model, thus initiating several collaborative projects relating to early childhood education.  We are proud to have you lead our St. Paul community!

St. Paul is pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s Circle of Honor Tribute: The Dumont Family, Mr. Stephen Phelps ‘74, Mr. David Kelly ‘79, the Institute of Religious Teachers Fillipini, and Sr. Marguerite Tarleton, C.S.J.  These outstanding recipients will be honored at a dinner at the Aqua turf on Thursday, October 23, 2008.
